A magical festive day at West Kirby School & College

Our school enjoyed a truly memorable festive day as pupils from across all year groups came together to take part in our annual Elf Run & Walk, followed by a wonderful Christmas celebration.

Although the weather meant we were unable to head out around West Kirby as originally planned, the event was moved indoors to the Sports Hall. The highlight of the morning: pupils embraced the change with enthusiasm, walking and running together while wearing elf hats and Christmas jumpers. The hall was full of energy, teamwork and determination, and the festive spirit continued with a fun Mr Hicks Christmas Quiz, which added plenty of smiles and laughter.

The Elf Run & Walk is a fantastic way to bring our school community together, encouraging physical activity, positivity and togetherness. We were also raising funds for local charities, including Wirral University Teaching Hospital (WUTH), Arrowe Park Hospital, and Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

Following the run, pupils gathered together in the hall for a truly special Christmas celebration. With the Christmas tree glowing, festive music filling the space, and staff and pupils proudly wearing their Christmas jumpers, the atmosphere was warm and joyful. Our Music Department, with Dan, Harry and Paul, set the scene beautifully with live Christmas songs.

Tables were laid with crackers, Christmas dinner was ready, and the excitement reached its peak when Santa arrived, along with his reindeer and helpers, bringing huge smiles to pupils and staff alike.

Days like this highlight what makes West Kirby School & College so special, the kindness, respect, joy and strong sense of community that runs through everything we do. Thank you to our staff for taking part with such enthusiasm.

To all our parents and carers, thank you for your continued support and trust. We wish everyone a very happy festive season and a wonderful year ahead.
