Welcome to the Career and pathways section of our website.  This section provides comprehensive resources for everything related to future pathways for our pupils.  Whether you are a pupil, parent, guardian, alumni, volunteer, teacher or anyone involved in supporting our pupils on their journey towards their adult pathway.

We have a wealth of information, which is regularly updated.  At WKS we use the Gatsby Benchmarks to guide us to plan our Careers Education programme. 

What are the Gatsby Benchmarks?

The Gatsby Benchmarks are a framework of 8 guidelines about what makes the best careers provision in schools and colleges.  These guidelines are:

1. A stable career programme
2. Learning from career and labour market information
3. Addressing the needs of each pupil
4. Linking curriculum learning to careers
5. Encounters with employers and employees
6. Experiences of workplaces
7. Encounters with further and higher education
8. Personal guidance

As part of our commitment to informing our pupils of the full range of learning and training pathways on offer to them, we provide several opportunities throughout the pupils' journey to allow them to explore different career paths.  We have a structured programme, which includes a variety of activities that focus on providing high quality information and guidance.
